About me

Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.

I have specialized training in developmental and relational trauma, complex trauma, and EMDR. I also have expertise in working with couples and families.

I earned my bachelor’s in Peace & Conflict Studies with an emphasis in social justice from the University of Utah. I also earned a graduate certificate in Conflict Resolution and completed trainings in both basic and divorce mediation at the University of Utah.

My approach

I approach therapy from a non-pathologizing point of view. I believe that our emotional and behavioral symptoms are rooted in our nervous system’s attempt to keep us safe and connected. When we come to understand how our psychological defenses developed in order to keep us in relationship, our responses make sense, and we learn to hold ourselves with more compassion. Many of us have old wounds that need tending. With our modern understanding of interpersonal and developmental neurobiology, we are able to work with the body and the belief systems that resulted from our past experiences and cultural conditioning to find a felt sense of inner peace from which we are able to connect more meaningfully to ourselves and others.

I incorporate my experience of 25 years of meditation and study of energy healing modalities from around the world into my therapy work. I invite the body and its somatic responses to guide each session.

I approach therapy from a humanistic, feminist orientation. I conceptualize mental health within the context of the broader culture each individual is a part of.

I offer LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy and strive to practice with cultural humility - mindful of how identity, power, and lived experience shape us. I am committed to providing therapy that is affirming of all identities and attentive to the impacts of race, culture, disability, and systemic inequity.
